How will confidentiality be maintained?
The confidentiality and security of provider and patient information and the privacy of the system users are critical priorities for DGF MedServ. Our web-based platform and database are designed to be compliant with all laws, rules and regulations relating to the privacy of individually identifiable health information (HIPAA).
All network traffic to and from the database is routed through redundant firewalls for complete security to the database and online systems. Secure internet accesses to application's screens, use of passwords, and powerful 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption are used to insure only authenticated use of the system. Only password/PIN authenticated users have access to their restricted data over connections that automatically encode all information exchanges. Virus detection mechanisms are used to ensure that the database and websites are free of all viruses. Routine and daily tape back-ups protect all volatile system data and are secured in an off-site storage facility.
Can the records submitted to DGF be changed on-line?
No. All records, documents or other submissions cannot be changed as they are archived on a READ ONLY basis. New documents or reports can be added as amendments but your original documents cannot be altered by anyone either inadvertently or intentionally. Furthermore, you can deny access to your information by restrictive access by department or personnel.
Your records can be retrieved at any time and can be printed out so as to reduce your necessity for copies, files and file cabinets.
Can I use my current system software to interface with the DGF platform?
Actually, no software is needed at all to access the DGF Platform. All you need is Internet Access. Any Internet Service Provider (ISP) will work whether it is dial up, high speed, DSL or T-1.
Can the providers check the status of a claim?
Yes, DGF utilizes the power of the Internet to enable health care providers to conduct everyday transactions more easily, more efficiently and less expensively than ever before!

None . . . DGF has direct connectivity with payers so we do not need a clearinghouse . . . DGF is the clearinghouse.
